Date Time  Title / Description Description
18 October 2023 12:00 CEST Recall period and health fluctuations in health-related quality of life measurement

This webinar will present and discuss recent empirical work exploring the measurement of health-related quality of life for patients with fluctuating health conditions and how the choice of recall period can impact upon measurement.

Do patients adhere to the specified recall period asked in patient reported outcome measures (PROMs)? What about if they experience very fluctuating health? How do their answers differ when asked about ‘today’, as is done in the EQ-5D or about ‘the last seven days’ as is done in the EQ-HWB? What difference could the use of different recall periods make to estimations of QALYs? These are some of the questions that we will be exploring during this webinar.

Join us for a webinar on the QUOKKA project that has generated significant new knowledge on the psychometric performance of paediatric HRQoL measures. The QUOKKA Paediatric Multi-Instrument Comparison (P-MIC) Study has collected data on more than 6,800 children. This webinar will present comparative evidence across child age (2-18 years), childhood conditions and proxy versus self-report. Findings will include EuroQol experimental measures, EQ-TIPS for young children and EQHWB for parents. Qualitative and quantitative evidence on differences between proxy and self-report from child-parent dyad interviews and use of pictorials will also be presented. Implications for further research and valuation studies will be discussed.

International new comparative evidence from over 6,800 children will be presented on performance of the EQ-TIPS, adapted EQ-5D-Y for 2-4 years, Y-5L, Y-3L EQ-5D for 12-18 years and the EQ-HWB for parents. Qualitative and quantitative exploration of proxy versus self-report from child-parent dyad interviews and use of pictorials will also be presented.

13 June 2023 EQ-5D-Y for children with intellectual disability A webinar on a qualitative analysis of how well the EQ-5D-Y-5L describes children with intellectual disability. This presentation is important because 3% of the world’s children have an intellectual disability and their impairments and comorbidities place them at high risk of poor quality of life. Moreover, data support the development of a modified EQ-5D-Y-5L.
