The EQ-5D has been used in clinical trials, population studies, and real world clinical settings for over 25 years and interest in using the instrument remains as strong as ever. From 1 October 2017 to 30 September 2018, 4,922 requests to use the EQ-5D instrument were submitted to the EuroQol Office from 105 countries around the world. The continued success of the EQ-5D is testament to the commitment by a large global multidisciplinary network of experts to ongoing research on the EQ-5D. Their efforts are supported by the not-for-profit EuroQol Research Foundation, which reinvests all income from the EQ-5D into further research, education, academic and scientific meetings, and user support. The result is a valid and reliable family of questionnaires to describe and value health that are available in over 170 languages and recommended for use by a number of Health Technology bodies across the globe.
