The EuroQol Group is pleased to announce a podium presentation at the ISPOR 23rd International Meeting in Baltimore, USA on Monday 21 May from 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM, entitled: United States Valuation Of EQ-5D-5L Health States: An Initial Model Using A Standardized Protocol. The presentation has been nominated as a finalist for a Research Podium Presentation Award.
The study team, led by researchers at the University of Illinois at Chicago (Principle Investigator: A. Simon Pickard), implemented the international health state valuation protocol developed and supported by the EuroQol Group. The study’s main goal was to derive a US value set for the EQ-5D-5L from the preferences of the US adult general population using the EuroQol Valuation Technology (EQ-VT) platform in face-to-face interviews. The collaboration included a scientific and a stakeholder advisory group, including representatives from payer, industry, and patient groups as well as experienced investigators from other countries who had previously conducted 5L valuation studies.
Results of the study will help to inform economic evaluations and decision-making in US health systems as well as facilitate cross-country comparisons of health preferences based on a standardized? international protocol. The broader study included additional aims that will contribute to the improvement of future valuation studies of the EQ-5D-3L and 5L in terms of methodological approaches and interpretation of results.
