Webinar: When and how to use qualitative research methods: The importance of methodological coherence

Description: Qualitative research is a form of scientific inquiry with a distinct methodological approach that explores human problems. It is naturalistic, interpretative, and inductive. It helps answer questions that quantitative research methods cannot address. To achieve a high-quality study, the qualitative method must fit the research question and be methodologically coherent. This 60-minute webinar will cover when to use qualitative inquiry and describe methodological coherence, with concrete examples relevant to the EuroQol group. After this webinar, the audience will be able to:

  • Identify research questions that are most appropriately answered using a qualitative approach,
  • Describe how slight differences in research questions or purpose of a study changes the method used, and

Understand the importance of methodological coherence in qualitative studies.
