Victor Zarate is a PhD student based on the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York. He has a MD degree awarded by the Universidad de Chile, a MSc in Health Informatics from City University and a MSc in Health Management from Imperial College London. He has recently finished a 3 years medical specialization program in Public Health and also a MSc in Epidemiology, both from the Universidad Catolica de Chile. In December 2006 he was awarded the “Alan Williams Fellowship” to study the state of health status measurement in Latin America and the Hispanic valuation of the EQ-5D health states in the U.S. Victor is under the supervision of Prof. Christine Godfrey and Prof. Paul Kind. His doctoral research is focused on the measurement and valuation of population health.
