Nick is a Professor at the School of Population and Public Health, UBC where he conducts research and teaching in health economics and decision analysis. He began his career conducting cost-effectiveness analysis and developing preference based measures, which included developing the discrete choice experiment with duration approach for eliciting health state indices. His more recent work is interested in using using routine patient reported outcomes and preference elicitation for health system improvement.
