Proxy-reported outcomes
How can we assess patient outcomes when patients are unable to self-report their health?
In this Core Knowledge Panel, Mike Herdman (Office of Health Economics) will introduce the fundamentals of proxy-reported outcomes, explaining the differences between the two proxy versions—proxy-proxy and proxy-patient—and discussing when their use becomes necessary.
Lidia Engel (Monash University) will provide insights into the use of proxy-reported outcomes in older adults, how different proxy perspectives influence the inter-rater gap within the context of dementia, and the appropriateness of the EQ-HWB for use in residential aged care from the perspective of proxies. The session will conclude with a Q&A led by Yan Li (China Pharmaceutical University) and Jia Jia Lee.
