Meet our new office scientists
GuangJie Zhang is a PhD student at Erasmus Medical Center under the supervision of Professor Jan van Busschbach. Her PhD defence is scheduled for February 2026. Her research interests focus on the EQ-HWB, including its development, testing, valuation, and implementation. She is particularly interested in exploring emerging methodologies and applying innovative approaches to support EQ-HWB research. GuangJie aims to contribute to more informed decision-making in health and social care through robust evidence and methodological innovation.
Jan Heijdra Suasnabar is a fourth-year PhD candidate in the Medical Decision Making section at the Leiden University Medical Center. His research centres on economic modelling and the comprehensive measurement of health-related quality of life. Previously, he collaborated on several EuroQol-funded projects aligned with the Descriptive Systems Working Group (DSWG) and now serves as the office liaison to the DSWG.
Maksat Jumamyradov specializes in econometrics and health economics, focusing on understanding preference heterogeneity and choice predictions. In his PhD dissertation, Maksat introduced novel preference elicitation methodologies, analyzed biases in discrete choice models, and directed discrete choice experiments to conduct preference-based value assessment of pediatric health-related quality of life. Maksat is skilled in developing predictive models using various programming languages as well as utilizing high-performance computing to conduct simulation studies.
Stevanus Pangestu has completed his PhD in the Department of Health Policy at Corvinus University of Budapest. His dissertation examines the association between financial well-being and health-related quality of life in patients with breast cancer. At the EuroQol Office, he serves as a Scientist and Grants Coordinator, with responsibilities that include being the liaison to the Populations and Health Systems Working Group and a member of the EQ-VT Support Team. He also previously served as Vice Chair of the EuroQol PhD Network.
