Renaming EQ-5D-Y into EQ-5D-Y-3L

Researchers at the EuroQol Group are developing a new 5-level version of the EQ-5D-Y instrument, called the EQ-5D-Y-5L. This new version is expected to be available to all users by the end of 2024. The existing version of the EQ-5D-Y will now be renamed the EQ-5D-Y-3L, to help differentiate between these two youth versions of the EQ-5D instrument.

As the renaming process for the EQ-5D-Y-3L is expected to take several months across all of our documents, media and the website, either name will be found for some time on EuroQol webpages, in scientific publications and legal documents, and on EQ-5D versions obtained from EuroQol. It should be noted that, apart from the name, EQ-5D-Y or EQ-5D-Y-3L, the content of the instrument is identical.”
