EuroQol sponsoring a pre-congress session at IHEA July 2023 in Cape Town, SA
The EuroQol Research Foundation is sponsoring a pre-congress session at the International Health Economics Association meeting in Cape Town in July. This pre-congress session is led by the Population and Health Systems Working Group and will focus on EQ-5D as a measure of population health. Trudy Sullivan, Des Scott and Kompal Sinha will present EuroQol funded work on POPQOL, DAPHNIE and IndiQol, respectively. The session will be moderated by Paula Lorgelly. The barriers to setting up such studies will be discussed and shared, including the design of the surveys, the need to obtain ethical approval, sampling to ensure representation and the choice of method for data collection in the field (face to face vs online). There will also be discussion with respect to the benefit and value of such data – particularly in resource-limited settings – and how to showcase and promote such studies to funders and governmental / non-governmental organisations. There will be a discussion and overview of research opportunities and research expertise that is available to support health economists to undertake population health research.
If you are attending IHEA and interested in participating in this free pre-congress session please register here.
