As part of the broader AfroHTA 2026 conference programme on July 28-31, in Rabat, Morocco, EuroQol is supporting a dedicated session on the role of patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) in Health Technology Assessment (HTA), with a particular focus on the EQ-5D instrument. The session is being organized by the EuroQol Education and Outreach Team in collaboration with the KEMRI Wellcome Trust.
Through presentations from international and African experts, the session will explore the application of EQ-5D in decision-making, value set development, and HTA across different health system contexts. EuroQol’s contribution also highlights its ongoing commitment to capacity building, education, research collaboration, and support for low- and middle-income countries, while complementing the conference’s wider discussions on strengthening HTA in Africa.
